Welcome To Your Twenties

August 31, 2013- My 20th birthday!

Enough with the apology posts, I'm back for real this time! Moving, starting school, and having your birthday all within the span of two weeks is nothing short of stressful topped with cherry. But over the past two weeks, I have had several life experiences, learned a lot, and now know how to handle situations if I come across them again. Yay no longer being a teenager! I know everyone says "you are only a teenager for so long, enjoy it" but I believe that you are only "young" for so long. I can't say I hated being  teenager, but I definitely didn't like it. After I turned 13, I wanted to be 16, after 16, 18, and after 18 I wanted to skip over 19 and just turn 20. Well that year is here. I am no longer a teenager, and I am in no rush to be 21. I want to enjoy this year, and live it to the fullest. Yesterday I was welcomed into the twenties. Someone literally told me "Yay, you're in you're twenties now! Time to live up to all the standards." I know that technically I am in my twenties, but let's not count that until I turn 21 (I know, it's kind of cheating). My twentieth birthday was celebrated this past weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and I had the most amazing time with my friends and family! My parents came up from LA, and my friends threw me a "surprise" party, and it was just what I needed. The weather, on top of everything, was perfect, which in San Francisco, never happens. On Saturday, my actual birthday, we went into Sausalito for dinner and it was actually hot. This is insane for the Bay Area this time of the year (it usually doesn't get hot until September- thank you for Indian Summers).
Here are a few random pictures from my weekend- look out for my meals of the weekend as well as updates on my apartment!

Hope you all had a fantastic Labor Day Weekend and didn't work too hard!

Life Update!

Thursday, August 15, 2013

Helloooo from San Francisco! Yes, I am once again back in the Bay Area for school! Amongst the chaos of getting ready for school and many sorority events, I am moving! I will be moving closer to my school to a bigger, more spacious apartment. I will definitely have updates on the new apartment, but as for now, I am typing on my iPad due to the fact that my MacBook has decided to close out OSx Software. Until I get that fixed and get settled back into the school and work schedule, there may be lack of posts!
Hope you are all doing amazing!
xoxo,
Kathryn Michel

I Have An Obsession | Disneyland

Thursday, August 8, 2013

When people used to ask me what the happiest place on earth was, I used to say Starbucks. Who did I think I was? Did I think I was too cool to actually say Disneyland? Anyways, past aside, I need a season pass to Disneyland. Okay, I don't NEED one, but it would be really handy and would make me very, very, happy. If only there was another Disneyland in San Francisco! Then it would be justified (:

Until then, I will just have to do with the occasional trip - three this summer, but who's counting?

Cream Cheese Pretzel (GO GET ONE) | Small World Pretzel Cart
Mint Julep | Cafe Orleans

Mardi Gras Chicken Sandwich | Cafe Orleans

My Life Saver | #singlelife

Matter-oon! (Matterhorn Macaroon) | Jolly Holiday Bakery & Cafe

So yes, I may eat my way through Disneyland, but this isn't even all of it! I got some fudge and cookies for my parents, and I finally gave in and got a turkey leg. That thing is DELICIOUS! I have it in my fridge now, and it is like thanksgiving leftovers were infused with bacon. I swear, GET IT! And I also got Mocha Almond Fudge ice-cream from Gibson Girl, but I was alone on Main Street and it was a moment of panic! To end this short post I will tell you some exciting news! DISNEYLAND IS GETTING A STARBUCKS! Hoorayyyy! There is one in CA Adventure and one at Downtown Disney, but they will be opening one in Disneyland off of Main Street! Am I the only one excited? Yes? Okay... See you all in my next post!

Favorite Things | Spa Time

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Happy August! To kick off the start to my birthday weekend, and to finish my day off, I wanted to have a spa night! I thought I would share with you a few products I have been loving, and a new product and what I think about it.

Coconut oil is a long time favorite. It's amazing for skin, hair, and cooking but tonight I used it as a hair mask! If you are interested in how I did this, click here!

For my face mask, I broke out my Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal mask which I rediscovered when cleaning out my bathroom! Yay summer cleaning!

As for the bath bomb, I actually made this when I was in San Francisco for the weekend. Yes, I made this! They were having a free demonstration or something outside and you were able to make your own bath bomb, for free! Since it was just sitting in my bathroom, still in its mold I might add, I figured why not give it a try! It turned my bath water HOT PINK, but hey, can I complain? And it smelled like roses! I don't feel that it did much to my skin, but it was still fun!

As for my candle, I like to burn Christmas candles year round because, well, because I can. This is my favorite one, frosted cranberry!

To keep me occupied I got caught up on 17 magazine, and scrolled through my Twitter feed!
