Facebook vs. Text

Thursday, March 6, 2014

The internal debate. I know we all do it. I probably just over think it more than the average girl person.
It is his or her birthday. You haven't talked in amount of day months, and possibly years. If it is years, I say lean more towards the Facebook post which will result in a like, and not a "so what have you been doing since I talked to you last in 8th grade?"
Let's do this.

1. I would post on Facebook, but I don't want to get caught up between 30 or 40 more notifications and then they never see it.
2. What if I just get a "like" and not even a comment back saying "thanks" does that mean they don't care anymore? Or what if they do comment and then we have this whole conversation for all of Facebook to see?
3. I haven't talked to them in awhile though, what if they changed their number?
4. And they might be getting a ton of texts too and not even bother responding to me!
5. But at least for their text messages I know they will check it, like they might not even check Facebook.
6. Okay, they'll probably check Facebook, this is 2014, but still.
7. Do I add a smiley face? Do I use an emoji?

8.  How many "y"s do I put at the end of "birthday"? How many exclamation points starts to seem desperate?

9. Do I ask a question like "how is school going?" or assume it is going fine and say "hope school is going well!"
10. But then I have like 3 exclamation points in ten words. I can't seem to excited, it might come off as desperate.

In case you were wondering, I sent a text. Two exclamation points and a "Hope school is going well"
All that worry for nothing everything.

Wish List Wednesday

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

In lieu of current events, aka my bank account decreasing at a rapid speed as a result to my brunch obsession, I have decided to make a wish list. Not only of things, but of places, and food, well, just tacos. Also, I apologize for the randomness of posts this week. It's midterms week and I can't seem to wrap my head around more than listicles and random thoughts.

-Tacos. I've been craving them for like two weeks now.
Side Note: When I am home in LA next week I really want to find some good tacos, so let me know if you have any recommendations!
-New York, it's always the answer.

-Vineyard Vines

-Puffer Vest

-Nars Ita Brush and Sheer Glow Foundation

-New Phone

-New Clarisonic Brush Heads

-Contacts

-Kate Spade Book Clutch

-Southern Shirt Company Shirt (seeing as my Theta one got weird in the wash, ugh)

-White converse, but can I get ones that will like, never get dirty? I don't think I can handle the stress of white converse.

If you've read this far, cross your fingers and toes because maybe next week I will have an update on my love life. WHAT? I know.

Oscar, My Main Man

Monday, March 3, 2014

Sunday was homework, errand, sorority day, leaving only the last 5 or so categories left of the Oscars by the time I got home. If you don't know already, I love me some award shows. Award season is actually my favorite. Probably because my dad is really cool and has two awards, or maybe because I really just like the glitz and glamour and it's the LA girl inside of me. Either way, I  managed to watch the last 35 or so minutes on a stream that cut out every five minutes, but here is how I kept up to date with the most intense, pizza driven, elegant, red carpet and award show!

This is what I wore on Sunday, in case you were wondering...
Rain Coat: LL Bean (I think)
Necklace: Charming Charlies
Mint Shirt: Urban
Grey Sweater: Gap
Pants: J Crew
Shoes: Nine West
Bag: Longchamp (with a scarf tied around it)

I kept up to date with E! News Updates being sent to my phone... And by stalking the Academy's Instagram...

Case and point:

Once the show started, I had my handy sidekick (my mom) text my updates, which also included pictures and her commentary...

And what is an award show post without showing you my favorite red carpet looks?

Until next year....
