End of May & June Favorites!

Happy July!!!!

It is now that time where I show you products that I have been loving the past month. Problem is, I did not do this for May seeing as I was in Spain and I most likely would have only mentioned products I had with me, so instead I thought I would wait it out and tell you my favorite products from Spain, and the last two weeks.

Alrighty so from left to right and back to front:
Caudalie Cleansing Water
Boots Expert Anti-Blemish Toner
St. Ives Timeless Skin Moisturizer
Bare Minerals Matte Powder Foundation
Target Wallet Clutch
Lush Eau Roma Toner Water
MAC Nude On Board Limited Edition Bronzer
Fresh Sugar Lip Balm
Smashbox Green Photo Ready Primer
MAC Select Sheer Concealer
Stretchy Hair Ties
Exfoliating Cotton Rounds
Caudalie Cleansing Water:
Whatever hype you have heard about this product is right. The cleansing water is AMAZING! I bought this in a travel pack with other Caudalie products for our weekend trip to Barcelona and this was by far the stand out product. It acted as my cleanser for the weekend and I didn't breakout once! I will most definitely be buying a full size of this product!

Boots Expert Anti-Blemish Toner:
Coincidentally, I bought this toner before my trip to Spain because I thought it was the toner for sensitive skin, which is supposed to be the dupe for the Caudalie Cleansing Water. Much to my surprise it wasn't, but this is a very calming acne toner! It doesn't have that acidic or burning feel that some other acne toners have, which I LOVE!

St. Ives Timeless Skin Moisturizer:
I bought one of these moisturizers over my winter break and accidentally left it here when I went back to school. One day, my mom called me and told me not to be upset with her. She had used this lotion. Of course I didn't care because 1) I got it on sale and 2) there is literally a life time supply of lotion in there. She fel in love with it, and I got a new one for Spain. This was the only moisturizer I brought, and it gave me perfect skin! Now that I am home and working outside almost everyday, I have changed my daily moisturizer to one with SPF, but I still use this every night and it is still amazing! This lotion is also very calming on my neck, chest, and shoulder area!

Bare Minerals Matte Powder Foundation:
I have a love hate relationship with Bare Minerals. Bare Minerals was the first makeup I ever wore. Like middle school status. Then I thought I was too cool for it. But then when they came out with the matte formula, I had to try it! (I have combination skin) So I tried it last September? At which point I was still tan from summer, which quickly faded, and then was not my shade anymore. I kind of forgot about it, but then right before Spain started using it religiously. I of course forgot to pack it, and used my Benefit Hello Flawless powder which I am trying to use up, but when I got back ran out of! I quickly ran to the closest Bare Minerals store and picked up a new one and got shade matched! Currently I love this powder, but give me a few months, I might not like it again (:

Target Wallet Clutch:
This little guy acted as my wallet when in Spain, but I could also fit my phone in there! (iPhone 4s) I used it as a clutch a few times and it was perfect! I did spill sangria on it, which is another story and also why the zipper area has a slight purple tint, but its still alive!
MAC Nude On Board Limited Edition Bronzer:
I hit pan on my first ever MAC bronzer! Yay meee! It probably has to do with the fact that this was the only bronzer I brought with me to Spain but hey that's okay! I love this color because it provides that natural tanned look without being too muddy or orangey! (Sorry it was limited edition): )

Fresh Sugar Lip Balm:
This came in a duo with the fresh brown sugar lip scrub which I HATED. Thankfully I loved this and I am almost out! It is the perfect size, and leaves my lips moisturized for hours. I love this lip balm before lipstick or right before bed!

Smashbox Green Photo Ready Primer:
This is the only primer I brought with me to Spain and not only has it lasted, and there is still tons of product left, but it helped keep my makeup on ALL day and allowed me to use less foundation because the green cancelled out redness in my skin!

Stretchy Hair Ties:
Random favorite, but I just got a new pack of these and they are my new favorite hair ties!

Lush Eau Roma Toner Water:
I spray a few sprits on my face in the morning after I wash my face and before I moisturize and it really helps my skin drink up the lotion! The rose water opens up the skin and helps absorb the lotion or moisturizer you use after quicker and better! That and it smells INCREDIBLE! This toner water also joined my on my trip to Spain and was definitely a life saver some days!

Exfoliating Cotton Rounds:
I have recently discovered these and why I have never used them before is beyond me! With acne toners or even cleansing water, these exfoliating cotton rounds really help drag out any excess dirt from the cleanser and leaves your face feeling super soft and clean!
MAC Select Cover Up Concealer:
This concealer is INCREDIBLE! I am very picky with my concealers and have gone through a few studio select? studio cover? The one in the pot! And I just can't figure out how to use them properly to get them to stay on my face! I know it sounds weird, but it's true! Select cover up dries fairly quickly which means yes, you have to work quickly with it, but it also means that once it is on and blended its not going anywhere!

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

Is the happiest place on earth also the yummiest?

Thursday, June 27, 2013

This past Tuesday I went to Disneyland, YAY! I went with my best friend, Erika (who has a food blog! erikaeatz.tumblr.com ) and we thought maybe we should eat our way through Disneyland, and I mean, why not? Disneyland has definitely improved on the food game, and I can say without a problem that it is the theme park with the best food! Join us on our journey while eating through Disneyland! (:
We started off the day with beignets and iced coffee from New Orleans Square! Love these Mickey shaped donuts, so tasty!
After Space Mountain, it was time for lunch, and what better place than Pizza Port!
We chose the fusilli with chicken, yummmy!
I heard that one thing you had to try at Disneyland was the cream cheese filled pretzel. now I have had my fair share of Disneyland trips, but I have never had one of these.
If you go to Disneyland GET ONE!!! It was probably one of the best pretzels, no it was the best pretzel I have ever eaten. So good that before we left I wanted another one! But don't worry, I resisted! They sell these pretzels on Main Street and near Small World!
While watching the afternoon parage, we enjoyed some yummy ice cream from carnation!
Next we went to Stage Door Cafe where we got mozzarella sticks!
They were so yummy! But definitely too much for one person, so be sure to share! Stage Door Cafe is located between New Orleans and Big Thunder Mountain!
And for dinner we had some Bengal Barbecue! I had never gone to this little restaurant either, but it is right across from my favorite ride, Indiana Jones. I got the chicken and it was so yummy! The portions are pretty small, but still reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back here to try some different things!

Basket of Empties

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Back in the day, when I used to make YouTube videos, aka last year? I did a few "Products I have used up" videos, or "Monthly Empties." Since I have gotten back from Madrid, there are a few products that I have used up and I figured, why not write a blog post about it? I mean if I did a video, why not do a blog post, right? Well, I thought I'd put them all in a basket, and show you what they are, how I liked them, if I am going to repurchase them, etc, and then throw them away!

Products (from left to right):
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
L'Oreal Eversleek Sulfate Free Shampoo & Conditioner
Boost Tangerine Woods Body Scrub from Bath and Body Works
Moonlight Path Triple Moisture Body Wash from Bath and Body Works
Benefit They're Real! Mascara
HAI Flat Iron (I'm still really upset about this one)
Deep Steep Grapefruit and Bergamot Body Butter

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle is just that! I love this product and have repurchased it several times. I have yet to repurchase it though because I am trying to give my hair a break of harsh shampoos and hair masks. Just for the summer though, and then I will probably go right to the store and pick one up! My favorite thing about this product might be the smell though (: If you are not a fan of coconuts, steer clear!

I loveeeee the L'Oreal Sulfate Free/Eversleek line! My mom has a ton stocked up in our house, so I will definitely keep using this shampoo and conditioner combo!

The Boost Tangerine Woods body scrub if probably my all time favorite body scrub... EVER! I love the way it smells, leaves my skin feeling, the whole deal! Only thing is, I only get it when it is on sale, so it's a good thing I have a back up!

Moonlight Path Triple Moisture Body Wash is amazinggg! This was my first time ever using this product (triple moisture body wash) and I used in it place of shaving cream. It is an incredible product! The smell is very relaxing as well, but I think its time for something a bit more summery!

I'm going to leave my flat iron for last, but the Benefit They're Real! Mascara quickly went from being my least favorite, to my favorite mascar within a few short weeks. When I first picked up this mascara I was confused about the wand, the texture, the finish, everything. Then I began layering it as the final coat in order to separate my lashes and leave a nice finish and oh goodness me, my lashes never looked better! I am one to always change mascaras though, so I am currently trying out a few different drugstore ones to see how I like those If you are in the market for a new mascara though, I definitely recommend this one!

Deep Steep body butter was a gift from my aunt, from Christmas I believe? But I wanted to save it for the spring time because of the scent! It came in a gift package with a body wash (of the same scent) also, but I used that up way before the body butter. It was a very thick lotion, hard to completely rub in at times, but the scent and length of moisture was worth it! I haven't see this brand in many stores, but the next time I do I am curious to see what other scents they have! As of now I am using some body butters in the tin from Bath and Body Works and Pacifica!

And now for my flat iron. I actually don't have it in me to throw it away yet, so it might just hang out in my bathroom for another week... When I went to Spain, I brought a voltage converter along with the different plugs to charge stuff. I used my flat iron once with the converter and it worked fine, but my roommate in Madrid used her flat iron and it burnt her hair! I was scared to use my flat iron after that, but one morning my hair was going crazy, so I made the courageous decision (Pitch Perfect reference) to use my flat iron. Yet, to my surprise, when I plugged it in, it didn't work. I took it as a sign, and didn't use hot tools on my hair for the remainder of the trip. (Mind you this was during week 1). When I came home on Saturday, I washed and blow dried my hair, and when I went to use my flat iron, it was dead. This was my second HAI flat iron, so I knew how to really check if it was dead, and it was.
I have purchased a new flat iron, and so far so good, but nothing will compare to my HAI flat iron.

And now I am going to go throw all of these trusty products out! Besides my flat iron, of course. Maybe I can revive it (:

Mommy and Me Date!

Friday, June 21, 2013

Last night, Thursday, my friend Kellie and I got together with our moms for dinner! Of course I had dinner dates with my friends as their moms when I was younger, but this was different because Kellie and I planned it. It was probably one of the most fun dinners I've had in awhile, and tasty! We went to Sofi's Greek Restaurant on 3rd in West Hollywood. Not only was the food great, the company was incredible, and the service was on point! I will definitely be headed back here if I'm ever craving Greek food!

Back to Basics: Summer Cleaning

Thursday, June 20, 2013

After the longest 4 days of recovery, I can finally say I think my jet lag is wearing off! YAY
(insert all happy emojis here).

I flew back on Saturday and had literally the longest day of my life. I left Madrid at 10:45 am, landed in London at 12 ish, and finally arrived at LAX at 5:20 pm. Meanwhile I spent 2 and a half hours from London to Madrid, and 12 or so hours from London to LAX, needless to say it was intense. After that plane ride I knew I needed a few days off, so I have been trying to relax as often as possible, which translates unpacking into throwing stuff onto my desk, OOPS!

But clutter no longer! I started a mini juice cleanse yesterday, which has definitely been helping, and i am summer cleaning my room.

Cute trophies right? They're from middle school! Makes me feel just the slightest bit old...

I also need to attempt to reorganize my makeup for the next few months...

And the jewelry, but thats another story (:

In the midst of moving some things around, I found a Christmas present! Guess I'm bringing holiday scents into summer!

But for now, I must return to cleaning! Then and only then will I be able to get some color and enjoy my beautiful back yard. Yay for motivation!
